How can a psychologist help?

The environment in which we live has become increasingly stressful and challenging. While we are often able to handle these stresses on our own, or with the help of family and friends, there are times when things become so overwhelming that we may require the help of an experienced mental health practitioner.

A clinical psychologist is a professional who has dedicated years of education and training to be able to assess, diagnose and treat a wide range of emotional, cognitive, behavioural and relationship problems. Psychotherapy is a collaborative effort between you and your psychologist to help you understand yourself and your problems better and find solutions that will allow you to live a happier and more satisfying life. Psychotherapy has been shown to have many benefits, including solutions to specific problems, decreased distress, better interpersonal relationships, improved self-esteem and enhanced problem solving skills.

Through confidential, non-judgmental discussions with a clinical psychologist, you can find the answers you are looking for and put into action changes that will transform your life.
